Self growth is a huge part of our wellness journey
I was listening to Jay Shetty’s podcast and I wrote down some questions out of the podcast to kind of reflect on 2021. And today I actually wanted to take some time to do it properly and write out my answers. But then I was like you know what let’s just do it right into the post.
I think the reason why this is so important is because once we reflect on our experiences we can learn and get more aware of things that happened and habits we created, which can be helpful for growth and development in 2022.
So I am excited to do this all together. Grab a piece of paper, and also answer these questions yourself that will be like a fun little mindfulness exercise!
1. What were the things that made you the happiest? How will you continue to do these things?
Something that made me happy last year was just kind of creating something myself and I refer to web design. I have so much joy doing it and I don’t really feel like I am working. And I think I’ve never had this feeling before.
2. What made you unhappy last year? What took energy away from you? How did you get there?
I feel something that made me unhappy was whenever I felt overwhelmed and got very upset with myself I would just like project my own insecurities from the past onto my close friends. And then we would just like fight and it would be so draining. Obviously, those moments made me super unhappy.
3. What is the biggest lesson you learned?
The biggest lesson I learned is that a lot of the fear I experience is useless fear. This fear does not have any influence on the outcome. It doesn’t serve any purpose and therefore I can let that fear go.
And also that I need to appreciate those who make time for me in their lives and reciprocate it.
And there you have it. It’s always healthy to take a step back to see things from another perspective, isn’t it?
