The ability to apologize
--
I believe that the main reason why so many people fail to apologize to others is because they let their own perception of a situation determine whether another human can be hurt because of them or not. And so they apologize only if they can see that they in fact did wrong.
But the thing is that we do not get to decide if someone else is feeling hurt because of us or not.
That right is theirs!
And apologizing does not necessarily mean that we admit that we were wrong. It simply means that we apologize for being a reason why someone feels hurt.
It shows that we understand that our actions and words have consequences and we take responsibility for them.
