I would guess that “Don’t let the things you want make you forget the things you have” is one of the hardest thing to master for most people.
Because if we get too comfortable we won’t push ourselves, but with too much focus on the things we want comes little or no time for gratitude and appreciation of the things that we do have.
I would never consider myself as a “master” by any stretch and I don’t have any magic tricks that you can do. But what I do however, is I try to have moments every day where I give myself time to just feel pure gratitude, not think about anything that I or my life lacks, just fully focus on everything that I do have.
It is important because if we wake up one day and we don’t have any of the things that we have today, we will miss our “now” so, so much. You have it right now! So learn to value it. Cherish it every day. And don’t take it for granted.
