You are in no way destined to be the way you have always been

I have always been a “month in advance planner” since I was very young. I don’t know it is my star sign or personality or circumstance. But I loved scheduling tasks for exact times in life and at work and sticking to the plan. I felt angst without a plan. I hated change and needed to know what was happening and needed to make plans and be in control.

But I have changed. And I want to be clear about the process.

The first step, as always, is to be aware. You must be aware of different aspects of yourself including traits, behaviors and actions that are not how you imagine the best version of you to act.

Secondly, you must understand that only you have the power to change. And you can begin that process right now. Because thirdly, you take action and choose to respond in a different way from what you’re used to.

The more often you do this you begin to change your habits, and if you do this long enough you are changing your personality.

Remaining flexible has allowed me to feel guided by meaning rather than plan. Not to sound irresponsible, believe me, I am extremely prepared in the responsible ways of “being prepared” and ready to whatever comes my way. But I am open to doing whatever I am supposed to do.

Point is…we can all change. It all comes down to reminding yourself again and again what kind of person you want to be for yourself and for those around you. Then you become that person.

As some of you have noticed I haven’t been posting as much lately and the reason is that life offline has had my full attention. And it is important to me to always be authentic and genuine in everything that I do. So thank you for being amazing, supportive and so patient with me!
